What engine is it. common problem with BMC 1.5. Removal of cylinder head is not a big job, compared to bent valves or piston replacment/rebore. Dont rush into anything . If you replace the broken plug the engine will start on 3, but will soon pick up on the 4th. But thats not the point, the broken part COULD drop into the cylinder.
