GEARBOX TROUBLES. HELP PLEASE

Hello there took the Nauticus out today for MY first trip. Going great for about one hour when I noticed smoke from the drive area cut the engine after engagin neutral. Now I can't get forward or reverse and the lever won't move upwards when the release knob is pressed I have an early transdrive fitted can anyone offer help Many Thanks Alan
