Summer Cruise

Post by riverdance »

Next Wednesday sees us depart Ripon for York then Naeburn and going tidal for the first time down to Selby. Should be interesting as we've heard all the horror stories etc from the members of our club who take great delight in trying to frighten the s**t out of you!!
Wife's a bit twitchy but a good vodka inside her will do the trick.

Will wave to all the York/Linton Nauticii as we pass.

Wish us luck! ;0)

Have a great cruise and much good luck with the tidal stuff. Just get your timing right, and the vodka in the wife, not you - you'll be reet!

We keep contemplating the Ribble Estuary so's we can visit the rest of the world apart from the Lancaster. I might have already done it with a sport cruiser but this is a weeny bit less powerful!

Of course ,Ray.

Go to your profile then click on modify. Drop down until you see the avatar box (it should be on "none") if you click on the dropdown arrow it will give you a list of cartoon type pictures you can adopt if you wish. However, if you want to put a more personal picture as an avatar, scroll down further to the Avatar URL box.
In this you type or paste the web address of the picture you require,
For example...youcut and paste something like this:-

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3181/2511363112_7c4daa3ce3_b.jpg

(This was taken from the Flickr site I use for storing digital photographs. You can freely open an account there or any other photo hosting website like photobucket etc).

Press ok and it should apear as your avatar.

Hope it works...let me know if not.

Cheers

Hi John

I was under the impression you had pictures saved on some website, that's something I'm not keen on doing, mine are stored on my PC and memory card.

Thanks for sharing that with me though and I'm sure it will be of use to some of the other members.

You could of course just place one picture on a website, use it to create your avatar then delete it.
I use the website for the ability to post certain pictures on sites such as this where a URL is needed....and particularly when promoting our apartment on advertising sites. I've also found it useful to hav a web based photo album whilst out of the country..........but each to his/her own.
It would be good to see other members boats on here
