Engine Swop

Hello Phil Sapphire has a Ford Diesel engine and yes it is from the old Fiesta/Escort/Orion. I think it is the 1.6 and I have been led to believe they are fairly easy to adapt . I have recently purchased the Haynes manual for it (no 1172) so that I can carry out any work myself over the winter month...

Transa Drive Repair

No Worries If your boat is out of the water you should be able to see the pin from the outside and if your careful you could knock it through far enough to be able to move the leg as a pose to use mole grips from the inside, but just be careful as it shouldn't come out completely it and should only ...

Transa Drive Repair

Hello Kevin (Woodsy) If you look at your Outdrive from inside the boat you will find a flat ended pin approx half inch in diameter which is located roughly at the number 3 if you were looking at a clockface. You will need mole grips to pull it out and release the outdrive. Secondly the sump plug, wh...

I once stumbled across that site and think it's brilliant, but I didn't add it to my favourites and forgot what it was called so thank you very much for sending me that link. You also made me laugh talking about the knockers of the old relay systems, as I bought th...

Battery Charging

Hi Terry Thanks for your reply, Yes it is a new type Alternator with built in regulator and yes there is also a alternator warning light that funnily enough goes off when the engine is running, but it didn't used to when I had the old split charge system. I have already read the link on Alternators ...

Hi My next task is to find out why my batteries won't charge. I have 1 starter battery and 3 110amp Leisure batteries. Since buying Sapphire the rev counter has not worked and I have replaced the old Lucas split charge relay and fitted an Argo Fet Diode model 702 made by Surepower Industries. I have...
