Ok, has anyone else had problems getting insurance for a 42 year Nauticus without the insurer insisting on an out of water hull survey.??Craftinsure gave me that ultimatum, and so did Haven ( Knox Johnson Ins) . Ringing round I found it was going to cost me in the region of £500 to £600 for crainage, hard standing and surveyor fees. Then I spotted Saga in the Towpath Talk mag. I know, I know, we all get that insurance junk mail from them, but I thought "what the hell". Low and behold fully comprehensive insurance including the usual wreck recovery stuff £103.00 Their underwriters were familiar with the Nauticus and common sense prevailed. No survey required, and no penalty, and no future survey whilst I'm insured with them. This is not an ad, just info for all those nutty Nauticus owners out there like me.
