Re: steering wheel mechanism
Hya Dave. Your steering mechanism is usually a Teleflex system. You can find details of these online in various places. I have just had to replace my steering cable after over 40 years of use. Its a pretty straight forward process "if" you can get hold of a similar cable that is, that was ...

Boat Insurance
Ok, has anyone else had problems getting insurance for a 42 year Nauticus without the insurer insisting on an out of water hull survey.??Craftinsure gave me that ultimatum, and so did Haven ( Knox Johnson Ins) :x . Ringing round I found it was going to cost me in the region of £500 to £600 for crain...

weight
Just a follow up on the weight. My 27 footer weighed in at almost 1.75 tons with empty water and fuel tank, and 2 h/d batteries. however it did have a 2.2 ltr peugot deisel engine in it which was a heavy bugger. Incidently if youre replacing the smaller side windows (toilet/galley area) the fitting ...

Anyone know the height above waterline of a 27?
Hi Soapy.good luck on your voyage. I've done the full length of the L & L , T & M, and most of the Macc. No problems with bridges or tunnels, tho you need to lower the windscreen and canopy to be on the safe side if you dont have a steady hand thru the tunnels on the T & M. This includes...

ps to the last message...DONT overfill the outdrive with oil..it expands when warm and will definately blow the oil seals or even worse, blow the gaitor.

Enfield oil leak
Hi Heathcliffe. About your oil leak, most times it comes from either the big black rubber gaitor when it perishes, or from the oil seals at the very bottom, on the prop shaft behind the propellor. With the gaitor you really need to know what youre doing, and with the oil seal, depending on the age a...

Spiders
Re the spiders..I bought some stuff through my club called spidergone..its from a french company and boy does it work.. small spray in corners and along edges and the blighters drop out like marines exiting a helicopter and die instantly. You have to be very liberal with it and use in vented conditi...

Fuel tank Capacity
Hya Jim. the capacity of the fuel tank on "Wyvern" is just about 8 gallons(x4.5= 36 litres) although I've measured the tank it works out approx 42 litres, but its always handy to ignore a gallon when running a deisel engine, which I do. At present I'm getting 4.5 hours a gallon from my 3 c...

Top Hatch stays wanted
Hya David..welcome to the site. As regards the stays on your hatch, try a caravan breakers, the stays on a Nauticus are almost the same as those used on the small vents on a caravan that are positioned over a shower cubicle or kitchen area..I'll keep an eye out for some near me and let you know if I...
