I have just taken over the running of the nauticus website from Mick Fowler and decided to give it a new look and bring it up to date. Any ideas or things you'd like to see please let me know.Terry Rayner - Site Owner

I've just had my boat safety done and although I have a clean and tidy, well maintained boat - it failed!New rules have meant the following for me are problems:
The gas locker must now be at least 5mm thick sides and bottom, or the thickness of the hull if fibre glass. Mine was about 2.5 mm, so I've lined the outside with half inch marine ply. You could also line it with metal at 1mm thickness.
As I have a petrol engine and therefore a petrol filler pipe and also an overflow - both made from rubber - the new rules state that the pipes must be marked with a BS standard that indicates they are suitable for petrol and this must be marked and visible. The flexible hose to the carburettor must also be BS approved and marked accordingly. - I have to change mine...
Batteries must now "not be able to move more than 10mm in any direction" and that includes up! Mine were in a fibre glass battery box but not restrained. Solution - a cheap set of roof rack rachet straps cost £7.50
My cooker burns with some uneven flame and also the oven (never used) had yellow flame tips - not acceptable, burners needed unblocking. Also the old gas regulator did not "lock off" (butane) at 28 millibars - it's tested with a manometer and there has to have a test point in the solid piping. All pipework must have compression fittings. Solution - cleaned the cooker jets and bought a new regulator.
BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY! - check yours ....

Can anyone help this nostalgic owner trace their boat?
I wonder if you can help me. We used to have a Nauticus 27 called Pooh II. She was sold in 1977 and I think was one of the earlier boats. If you or any of you members have any information we would love to know what has become of her. Thanks.Stephen Porter - stephenporter@porterco.co.uk
Why this site is here....
The site was originally created by an enthusiastic Nauticus owner (Mick Fowler - past owner of Kaczka) in the hope that others shared his interest. Time proved they did! Sadly Mick sold his boat and gained other interests therefore decided to hand the reins over to another Nauticus enthusiast.I bought my first boat, a Nauticus 27 in June 2010 and being a web designer decided that I could take on the task of keeping all of Mick's hard work going and not losing all this nostalgia. My boat is still currently undergoing renovation as she was in a sad state of repair, but that will be added in time.
The HISTORY page is building nicely and I hope you will help add to it. If you want to BUY and SELL anything (see CLASSIFIEDS), share any INFO, need any INFO, then let me know.
There are pictures and details of projects others have done (see PLANS) - please feel free to add to them:
