Ok, has anyone else had problems getting insurance for a 42 year Nauticus without the insurer insisting on an out of water hull survey.??Craftinsure gave me that ultimatum, and so did Haven ( Knox Johnson Ins) :x . Ringing round I found it was going to cost me in the region of £500 to £600 for crainage, hard standing and surveyor fees. Then I spotted Saga in the Towpath Talk mag. I know, I know, we all get that insurance junk mail from them, but I thought "what the hell". Low and behold fully comprehensive insurance including the usual wreck recovery stuff £103.00 Their underwriters were familiar with the Nauticus and common sense prevailed. :) No survey required, and no penalty, and no future survey whilst I'm insured with them. :D This is not an ad, just info for all those nutty Nauticus owners out there like me.
