Hello there fellow Nauticus lovers we are back to pick your brains yet again!
We are hoping to get down to Lyndel at the weekend and do a bit of cleaning and polishing, weather permitting.
On our last visit we noticed that the canopy was looking quite grubby and covered in the green residue from the over hanging trees.
We were wondering whether there was a special cleaning product that we have to use to clean the canopy or is it just washing up liquid or a similar product. After all with a new canopy costing over

We've been using a car wash and wax shampoo. It protects the stitching, cleans and helps to repel water. Check for colour fastness tho' first.

As an after thought, we were told by the members of our boat club not to use washing up liquid as it strips the fabric of its natural waxes, oils etc.

It's a bit late answering this enquiry, I know but, we use a product called Saddle Soap. You can get it from any equestrian or tack shop. It cleans and seals at the same time. Spray a little on, spread it around making sure you get into the stitching, and wash off residue. It has kept our hot tub cover as good as new for the last 3 years.

Hi there, we have just had our canopy restitched and had some interior curtains made for it. The company that repaired it told us not to use car shampoo or washing up liquid as it draws out the oils that are in the material and ruin it.
We have bought some vinyl roof cleaner and a polish that has a UV protector in it, so hopefully this will keep the canopy in tip top condition for years to come.
The company that repaired it are called A C Coachtrimmng in Bedford , their numbers are
01234 312653
07885 658462
they did a fantastic job at a great price and if you have a canopy problem they are well worth a call.
Have a great weekend boating we are off to lyndel for the weekend ,so hopefully the sun will shine.
Cheers ,Derek & Lyn
